Email marketing tools have been serving small businesses for decades engaging their customers and converting them to potential leads.
However:
It’s fair to say for some or the other reason the property domain has been slow to adopt to systems and technology.
At Limitless Monks we decided to create a section that will just focus on property tech within the blog.
Whilst we network and engage a lot with investors, sell deals, engage with agents / brokers / angels and others, we don’t use email marketing enough.
Here is a list of 5 email marketing tools some of which we used ourselves in the past and using currently to engage with our stakeholders.
1) Aweber
Aweber has been in existence for a while now and a simple, easy to understand email marketing tool with rich features.
Basic features including drag and drop editor, email automation, html templates, subscriber tagging and autoresponders have been there for a long time.
But:
They have matured the system with customer segmentation, rich integrations, APIs, mobile app, analytics and award winning customer support.
Software though isn’t that powerful when it comes to workflow creation for a customer journey which in-turn feeds into automation of sales journey.
Typical Use:
If you are a blogger, small business owner, a non-techy who would love easy to use software or simply a small team of users, then this is best suitable tool.
Pricing:
- 30 day free trail
- $19 for 500 subscribers
- $49 for 5000 subscribers
- $69 for 10,000 subscribers
2) Mailchimp
Of all the email marketing tools, if there is one that has been a favourite of mine then its got to be this one.
I have known Mailchimp to be a simple, free email delivering system when we used this for the first time 10 years ago.
Surprise:
It still remains free for first 2000 subscribers although with limited email marketing features for free users.
Pretty much does what Aweber does in terms of email marketing features.
However:
This has developed incrementally across the years and now has included social media posting, Facebook and Instagram Ads, eCommerce integration, content studio, behavioural targeting and more advanced features.
In a nut shell this has grown into a marketing tool suitable for small to medium businesses besides typical bloggers.
Typical Use:
Small to medium business owners with focus on marketing, bloggers and users who would love a bit of genuine free usage.
Pricing:
- $0 for 2000 subscribers
- $9.99 for 500 subscribers
- $49.99 for 5000 subscribers
- $74.99 for 10,000 subscribers
3) GetResponse
GetResponse, whilst delivering the email marketing tool basic features, also spreads its wings into some advanced features.
One of the first affordable blogger tools to embrace creation of email marketing workflows and provide an intuitive user experience.
GetResponse is focused on marketing automation and ready made marketing funnels which you can use within your business besides the email marketing features.
Typical Use:
Medium sized businesses and teams looking to make use of the marketing funnels whilst can also be a strong alternative to Mailchimp and Aweber for bloggers.

- $47 for 1000 subscribers
- $75 for 5000 subscribers
- $95 for 10,000 subscribers
Note: This pricing information is as of current pound to dollar conversion rate and “Plus” package recommended by GetResponse.
4) ConvertKit
One of the recent entrant into the world of email marketing tools and one we use at Limitless Monks.
Simplest of interface and easy to use workflow management system that you can build as per your business process.
The tool provides features to create landing pages there by avoiding you to create a website to engage with your subscribers.
The tool prides itself to segment its market as creators and has powerful implementation of customer tagging, segmentation and subscriber management.
Typical Use:
Best used for teams of users and businesses who don’t mind spending to have a clear set of features. If you are one who would like to avoid overload of features, then this one is for you.
Pricing:
- $29 for 1000 subscribers
- $79 for 5000 subscribers
- $119 for 10,000 subscribers
5) ActiveCampaign
ActiveCampaign boasts a wealth of features and is more than just an email marketing tool.
Email marketing features plus marketing automation, Sales and CRM, SMS messages and integrations along with Facebook custom audiences and conversations.
The differentiator though is usage of machine learning to detect the win probability and sending predictive emails to such customers.
All these features coming at similar costs to some of the email marketing tools above sure is appealing and warrants further research to integrate into your business.
Typical Use:
While it is an overkill to bloggers, this is best fit for medium sized businesses and probably most popular within small business world as well.
If you are looking for powerful CRM automation along side email marketing then this one is for you.
Pricing:
- $49 for 500 users
- $135 for 5000 users
- $199 for 10,000 users
